    Tom Waits, et al.

Los Angeles: Stonecloud, 1978. Quarto. Perfect bound in a pictorial wrap, very slightly bumped at the lower right corner. 151 pages. First and only small press edition. Near fine.

The seventh and final installment of the 1970's L.A. journal edited by Dan Ilves and Nick Warner. A contributor copy neatly packed away in a box since publication. Contains an interview with Waits entitled, "Tropicana Gothic" as well as the lyrics for two crucial songs: "Small Change" and "Tom Traubert's Blues." OCLC reports numerous Stonecloud runs held by institutions but only a handfull list a complete set with the elusive final issue. No other copies on the market. Exceptionally rare and exceptionally fine early Tom Waits ephemera.

"Small change got rained on with his own thirty-eight
And nobody flinched down by the arcade
And the marquees weren't weeping, they went stark-raving mad
And the cabbies were the only ones that really had it made
And his cold trousers were twisted, and the sirens high and shrill
And crumpled in his fist was a five-dollar bill"
