Elena Rodriguez.
St. Martin's Press: 1988. First edition. Hardcover in a jacket. Octavo. A bit of shelf wear along the top and bottom of the jacket. Some dings and shelf wear along the top and bottom of the boards. A little spotting on the top edge of the text block. 198 pages. Very good. Signed by Hopper.
Hollywood tells us it loves an unlikely comeback story, even if it's that's more "shoot the legend" than print the truth stuff. Yet Hopper did have an unlikely comeback story, with his substances and demons from the past battling his talent and ambitions and multiple directors screaming at him how he'd never work in Hollywood again. Rodriguez's bio was written right around Hopper's triumphant and demented returns in Blue Velvet and as Colors' director. Don't forget it's signed.
"He cataloged each broken relationship, every violent outburst, each run-in he had with authority figures, whether they were with directors and producers or the police. Now he was able to connect all these heartbreaking times with alcohol and drugs."
