    James Baldwin.

New York: The Dial Press, 1963. Octavo. Cream colored boards with very minor soiling to the front board, a touch of rubbing to the top edges of the boards, and a tiny previous owner's sticker to the inside of the front board. The crown of the unclipped jacket is rubbed, and there is extremely minor rubbing to the heel, with otherwise modest edge wear. First edition. Book is in very good condition,  the lovely jacket is flirting with near fine.

A remarkably well-preserved copy of Baldwin's landmark work.

“To be sensual, I think, is to respect and rejoice in the force of life, of life itself, and to be present in all that one does, from the effort of loving to the breaking of bread.”
