Margaret Grahame Collins.
Victoria: Margaret Grahame Collins, 1974. Perfect-bound in maize paper wraps, lightly rubbed on the verso. Designed and printed in Canada by the Morris Printing Company. 48 pages. Signed by the author, who also inscribed her address in Victoria, British Columbia, on the title page. Short letter typed on a note card, additionally signed by Collins, laid in. Fine.
Selected poems. Small window into the life of a minor poet touched by sadness. It isn't all death and gloom in this collection of poems, but the author's hurt, stemming in part from the death of her son in Vietnam, does bleed through in places. Rare: OCLC identifies one copy held by the University of Victoria. Lovely vintage poetry pamphlet with a deeply personal aura.
"In empty dooryards, shadow-laced,
where once frolicking farm dogs raced,
the feral foxes caper and spin,
bringing a final wildness in."
